Booking period 20th November 2018 - 9th February 2019
Although originally produced in this country at the National Theatre in 2006 this is the Chichester Festival production transferring to the West End after receiving six 5-star reviews and comments such as, ‘A Modern Masterpiece’.
Set in Louisiana in 1963 and Revolution is in the air though not so much for Caroline, the poorly paid maid toiling endlessly in the sweltering heat. The basement where she works is a magical place for Noah, the eight year old son of the Gellman family who sneaks downstairs whenever he can to see Caroline. But when he makes the simple gesture of leaving money in her pocket things are set to change.
The show has an exceptional soaring score and stars Sharon D. Clarke for its initial run. ‘To watch her is a privilege’, said The Times.
Exceptional opportunities for important and relevant follow-up work and excellent educational material is available produced by the National Theatre.
Scheduled for just 12 weeks starting in November.
