Hotels
All hotels used by London Theatre Tours are centrally located for ease and convenience and to avoid long transfers to and from hotels in the suburbs.
LTT provides a hot/cold Buffet Breakfast at all our hotels rather than a continental breakfast.
For a number of years now we have been able to negotiate favourable rates with the hotels we use.
Meals
LTT have selected six conveniently situated restaurants within Theatreland that offer menus attractive to young people at reasonable costs. All our restaurants cater to different dietary requirements. Meals are pre-booked in reserved seating and therefore avoid the need to queue. Some restaurants may require a pre order.
Information for teachers
OFSTED, LONDON THEATRE TOURS AND YOU…
Ofsted is totally supportive and enthusiastic about education outside the classroom and their own research demonstrates that school visits can contribute significantly to education standards and the development of social skills.
They have in the past regretted that some schools still offer trips as a ‘treat’ rather than an opportunity to widen student experience and student learning and they list multiple benefits including improvements to personal skills and also to academic achievement.
The Council for Learning Outside The Classroom supports cultural tours as well as outside activities simply because of the ‘unique contribution these experiences make to young people’s lives’.
Here at London Theatre Tours we believe education should be an active rather than a passive experience.
Ofsted’s own report, Learning Outside The Classroom (10/08), quotes young people of all ages saying they enjoyed working away from the classroom because they found it ‘exciting’, ‘practical’, ‘motivating’, ‘refreshing’ and ‘fun’. Specific comments included, ‘’You see rather than listen’’, ‘’We like learning by doing’’ and ‘’We learn in a fun way’’.
